Sunday FOTD!

Hello my lovlies!

Just thought I'd do a quick FOTD, my first one!

I'm wearing:
- MAC prep + prime SPF50
- MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer NC15
- MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation NC15
- The Body Shop All Over Powder
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
- MAC Venomous Villains Evil Queen Eyeshadow - Her Alter Image (All over lid)
- Front Cover Eye Spy Pallette - Gothic Grape (In the crease and outer corner)
- Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Liner
- Max Factor Xperience Masacara
- MAC Venomous Villains Evil Queen Blush - Bite of an apple
- MAC Venomous Villains Cruella Lipstick - Innocence Beware!

I'm really liking the new Max Factor Xperience Mascara so far, it makes lashes look long, is a nice glossy black and so far hasn't clumped!
I bought the Front Cover Eye Spy Pallette last Christmas and as you can see I've barely even touched it! This is the reason I didn't buy the new To Go one they have on offer at boots at the moment for half price. I wasn't really impressed with most of the colours either. I really like the one I have so I'm just going to use this one up.

While I was at it I quickly took a picture of me wearing the MAC Venomous Villains Malificent Lipstick in Dark Deed. (I know it doesn't really go with the rest of my make-up, I just slicked it on to show you) I really like it but with it being such a dramatic colour I think it would be best worn with simple eyes and a more natural blush.

And finally as promised some updated swatches of the MAC Venomous Villains Collection. I took the last one's at night and you couldn't see the colours properly so I took these in daylight.

NOTD Mac Venomous Villains Nail Lacquer - Formidable!

Hello!
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I've been catching up on house work and all the TV shows I don't get chance to watch during the week and decided to paint my nails while I was watching the telly.
I have to admit doing nail polish is not one of my favourite things to do, I don't know why I just find it really difficult to get it to look nice. I think it's because I've got quite small nails so I normally just have clear nail varnish on.
Anyway, I decided to try out the Venomous Villains nail polish I picked up in Formidable! from the Maleficent line. It is a dark purpley (don't think that's even a word!) colour with turquoise shimmer in and I really like it, it's very pretty and dramatic.
Here are the results, as I say I'm not particularly good at nail polish!

The pictures just don't do it justice, it's so much nicer in real life and is really sparkley! :) I wish I had gotten Mean and Green as well but out of the 2 I'm glad I got this one. You can read about the other items I got from the Venomous Villains Collection here.

Thanks for reading and have a good evening xxx

Little Boots Haul

Evening girlies and Happy Friday!

So today on my lunch break I popped into boots to pick up a couple of things. The main reason I went was because I wanted to check out the new Xperience line from Max Factor.

There are 4 items in the range, a Foundation, Mascara, Lip Tint and a Sheer Gloss Balm. I was originally going to buy one of each item but when I swatched the Gloss Balm I decided I didn't really want it because it didn't give off a lot of colour. This is currently on introductory offer in boots with up to £3 off each item.

The foundation comes in 6 shades and retails at £12.99. I got 40 - Light Ivory, which is their lightest shade and is described as being a luxurious full coverage foundation with a weightless feel. Suitable for sensitive skin, oil free and has SPF 10.

The mascara is a volumising mascara which comes in black or brown. I opted for Black and this retails at £10.99

Last but not least is the Lipfinity Lasting Lip Tint. This comes in 3 shades which are all lovely and I wasn't sure which one I wanted the most but in the end I went for 03 - Pink Princess. This is just like a thick felt tip pen and you just colour your lips in with it! The lip stain costs £6.99.

Here is a swatch of the foundation and the lip stain:

The last thing I got was the Umberto Giannini Morning After Dry Shampoo. If I have to use dry shampoo I normally use Bastiste for Brunettes but even though it's kind of tinted brown it still makes your hair look abit grey! I've heard so many good things about this dry shampoo and that it doesn't leave hair white so I'll be letting you know how I get on with that.

Over the weekend I am going to do some proper examples of the products I've bought recently on my face. I haven't so far this week because when I get home from work now it's already dark and when I take pictures in artificial light rather than natural daylight it takes me ages to to get a semi decent picture which shows the colours properly so I apologise about my crapness there!

Hope you've all had a great week and thanks for reading.

EDIT: Oooh I almost forgot, I got this in Dorothy Perkins too today.

They had 20% off everything today and I tried on a beautiful purple top which I really wanted to get but I decided not to. The reason is because I'm in the middle of a weight loss journey at the moment, I've lost 1.5 stones so far but want to lose another 2-3 maybe. I am only 5"3 so technically I should weigh about 8 stone even though I don't think I've ever weighed 8 stone in my whole life!! I tried on a size 12 and it fit like a glove but I could tell straight away that if I lose even a small amount of weight it's going to be too big.
I don't want to waste money on clothes if they aren't going to last very long! Ho hum x

MAC Venomous Villains Haul

Hello girls!
Well today was a very exciting day because I finally got my hands on the MAC Venomous Villains collection! I love Disney so this collection was very appealing for me :)

The collection went on sale on the website on Monday 4th and is hitting the stores tomorrow. I would say now that if you are interested in this collection to get down to the stores sharpish because almost all of the items on the website are now gone!

There is four parts to the collection - Cruella Deville, Malificent, Evil Queen and Dr. Facilier.
Here is what I picked up (sorry about the photo's, I will take some better one's in natural light when I take pics of me wearing them)

Left: Innocence Beware Lipstick (Creamsheen)
Right: Dark Deed Lipstick (Amplified)

Bite of an Apple Blush (Matte)

Mineralize Eye Shadow Duo - She Who Dares
I really regret not getting the other shade of this - My Dark Magic but it is now sold out. If I happen to be at a Mac store I may get it if I see one.

Beauty Powder - Briar Rose

Nail Lacquer - Formidable!

Small Eye Shadow - Her Alter Image - It has a little bit chipped out! :(

I absolutely love this collection and can't believe how quickly it sold out but I do think there are a couple of things they could have done better or haven't thought about.
In my opinion the Dr. Facilier part of the collection should have been something like Ursula from The Little Mermaid, that would have been awesome! Ursula likes red lipstick and the Magically Cool Liquid Powder from his range would have tied in with the water theme.
The second thing I think could have been done better is that they did the Compact Mirror as part of the Dr. Facilier range but I think it should have been part of the Evil Queen range because her saying is - Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all! What do you guys think?

I will put up some pics of me wearing some of these in the next day or so with hopefully some better pictures.
Thanks for reading!

Back to MAC

Has anyone ever done the back to MAC program? I have to admit I never knew you could do this until about a week ago. I was wondering why all the boxes say back to MAC on them, so I googled it and found a page on MACs website which says that if you keep 6 empty containers and take them back to a MAC store (you can post them back in the US but not here) you can choose any free lipstick (but not limited editions like Viva Glam). Here is more in depth info - http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk/customer_service/services.tmpl

It's a pretty good incentive. I have one empty so far :)

More Spot Shennanigans!

Good evening girls!

I wasn't going to blog today but I'm seriously breaking out so while I was in the bath I thought I'd review a couple of the products I was using.

As mentioned in one of my previous posts I get awful spots they're like lumps under the skin, I've been getting them for years and I'm 25 now! I went to the Dr's a couple of months ago and he gave me some tablets and I had a MASSIVE allergic reaction to them. It made my skin itchy and when I scratched it I got big welts (bit raised lumps when you've scratched) not nice! So I'm back to square 1 really and just trying to look after my skin and drink as much water as I can.

Tonight I put on a Deep Cleansing Mud Mask from Superdrug, I can't remember how much it was think it was about 99p.

It has a thick green texture and a nice refreshing smell to it. Here is a scary pic of me wearing the mask so you can see the colour and consistency of it. I probably look a bit odd because I haven't added it to my whole face, I do this because I only feel like I need it on the bad areas and I don't want to dry my cheeks out too much and it also means it will last longer because I'm not using as much!
Lush, not lol! This is a really nice product and has been really good value because it's lasted ages. I do prefer the MUDD masks but this does help when I'm having a skin crisis like today!

Here's an example of the lumps under my skin, I know it's not very pretty I'm sorry!! But I'm just interested to hear if anyone else out there has the same kind of spots because I don't know anyone?

I've spent more time putting pictures up of me with no makeup on that with makeup on haha but I promise some make up one's will be coming, don't want any more horrible pics up now!

The next product I want to mention is these Spot Reducer Gel Patches by Purederm which I picked up in Aldi when I was getting my fruit and veg.

I have one thing to say about these, DO NOT buy them. Seriously, just don't! I got them because I thought they were going to be the same as the one's Montagne Jeunesse used to do called Spot Dots. So I was thinking great, definately going to get some of those. What you do is put them directly on the spot and then go to bed and it does improve the spot a little overnight (well the montagne jeunesse one's do anyway) The problem with these Purederm one's is you put them on and they slide all over and do not stick properly to your skin....complete rubbish! I will use the packet up but I won't be buying them again.

Montagne Jeunesse PLEASE bring back spot dots! Didn't know this till today buy you can buy products from their website - http://www.montagnejeunesse.com/

Hope everyone is having a good week so far.

Zinc to help acne

Evening everyone!

I just wanted to share a tip that I find helps me ALOT! For those of you who suffer with really bad skin like me I find that if I take Zinc vitamin tablets I really notice the difference in my skin and I get a lot less spots.
At the moment I'm just taking Tesco one's but my favourite type is the Holland & Barrett high strength one's.
Anyone else take Zinc and find that it helps your skin?
